In this interview, show no. 312, Richard D. Hall (RICH PLANET TV) and Gemma O'Doherty — an Irish, award-winning journalist now widely described as a far-right activist and conspiracy theorist — discuss our news selection of the day.
Gemma O', as we refer to her, joined the Irish Independent in 1995 as a staff writer and rose through the ranks to become Chief Features Writer. However, her most high-profile work focused on reporting about Ireland’s criminal justice system and alleged police corruption within the Garda Síochána.
In 2013, Roy Greenslade, writing in The Guardian at the time she was fired from the Irish Independent, described her as “one of Ireland’s leading investigative journalists”, though he did raise concerns about the ethics of her news gathering methods (wink, wink).
In 2018, another Irish journalist, Michael Clifford, questioned both the impact of her investigative work and her tendency to lean into “theories of conspiracy” (again… wink, wink!).
Gemma O' refuses to toe the line — and we all know the mainstream media is bought and paid for… by whom, or shall we say, which hand.
In this interview with Richard, she delivers a performance that at one point even shakes the interviewer. Gemma O' pulls no punches — or as some say, doesn’t “put water in her mouth to speak.”
Here, she shares her perspective on current affairs not only in Ireland but across the globe, particularly in relation to children, their education, and the influence of the system on their delicate minds.
In this capsized world — increasingly so since 2020 — many have fallen away, whether by force, fear, or fatalities. Gemma O' holds strong views, firmly grounded in her Catholic beliefs.
On the subject of sexuality, she presents her unshaken moral stance, despite the ongoing influx of illegal immigrants, whom she believes have been allowed to flood her native land.
