EDUCATION | ECONOMICS and THE MIND (by Cynthia Chung)
Edition 1 – Page 10 (ACT TWO | SCENE TWO)
In this scene, Brandi highlights how the spoken words of the past connect to present and future actions and behaviours, which ties directly into our previous conversation in Scene I of the earlier article.
The foundation of your thinking shapes how you speak and, ultimately, how you behave. The words you speak reveal much about your beliefs.
For some adults, the effects of this programming are negligible, if they exist at all. However, the majority of people, without much thought, go through their daily lives perpetuating this cycle. This may be acceptable if you feel comfortable living like a passive object, but if it doesn't sit right with you, why not make a change?

The most damaging effects are not felt by adults but by children, as many have recognised, with some even arguing that the real 'war' is not on us, but on children.
Many have become aware of the dystopian path unfolding, which serves as a wake-up call for us all. We have all taken the 'Hippocratic oath to do no harm'... especially to children. However, for nearly a century, we've used screens as a means to occupy children, allowing us to 'get on' with our own lives.
This tendency only intensified with the advent of mobile devices, where the excuse to keep children engaged often involves placing a mobile phone, tablet, or laptop in front of them — eventually, even putting them directly in their hands.
So, here’s the question: would you light a stick of dynamite and give it to a child to keep them occupied, then walk away to keep them quiet?
Knowing that the dynamite is dangerous, and that adults are fully aware of the risks, if you allowed it to explode, you would be considered a murderer. The child, however, unaware of the danger, would likely be entranced by the object, fascinated by the spark of the fuse. This is the same effect we are subjecting their minds to, though not a physical death, but a mental one.
We often have a list of reasons for the social and environmental changes we see, but these could never have occurred without the society of people. Addiction isn’t created by a single, isolated event, but by repeatedly engaging in the same actions, training the body to associate comfort with them. Yet, comforting ourselves for our mistakes by using scapegoats like Operation Artichoke, MKUltra, MKNAOMI, or MKOFTEN only keeps us enslaved in the same cycle.
Today’s Sentiment - Do You Got My Back (Don’t Want To Be Baker-Down) - NFR
A Quick Note: No Fame Required is a exceptionally talented song writer and poet from the UK that graciously allowed us to use some of his work in the TTCC, we are grateful. However, in relation to the subtitle of the track extract (Don’t Want To Be Baker-Down) is an abstract reference to the following:
The Baker Act, officially known as the Florida Mental Health Act of 1971, is a law in the U.S. state of Florida that allows certain professionals—such as doctors, mental health practitioners, judges, and law enforcement officers—to detain and involuntarily commit individuals to a mental health facility for up to 72 hours. This action can be taken if there is evidence of violent or suicidal behavior associated with a severe mental health condition or if the individual is at significant risk of harm due to an inability to care for themselves. The act requires that the person be deemed unwilling or unable to voluntarily seek evaluation on their own.
A Note From One of Our Friends
It becomes meaningless if we don't practise what we preach or set the example of what we intend, only to do the opposite. Children learn from adults, and if our habits are misleading, even when we instruct them not to do something, they will end up imitating what they see us do.
The idiom 'practise what you preach' is of ultimate importance living humanity.
“We are going to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery because whilst others might free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind.
The Mind is your only ruler, sovereign.
The man who is not able to develop and use his mind is bound to be the slave of the other man who uses his mind.”
(Marcus Mosiah Garvey)
